Volunteers needed for Indy elder quality of life survey effort
The Mapleton Fall-Creek Development Corporation in Indianapolis is partnering with the University of Indianapolis Center for Aging & Community to launch a door-to-door survey of selected homes having residents age 65 and older. Volunteer surveyors are needed.
WHERE: The purpose of the survey is to collect input from senior residents living in the six neighborhoods of the Mid-North Quality of Life planning area (Crown Hill, Highland Vicinity, Historic Meridian Park, Mapleton-Fall Creek, Meridian Highland, and Watson-McCord).
WHY: The survey is designed to answer a variety of questions about the specific needs of older adults that will inform the priorities for helping seniors thrive in these neighborhoods.
WHAT: Volunteers will be trained to complete surveys in the field, talk with neighborhood residents they meet during the door-to-door survey, and provide general support throughout the process. Teams will be provided with a survey guide, food, drinks, and an ID to wear in the community. Volunteers should commit to at least 4 hours of training and a full survey shift.
WHEN: Available training dates include:
Tuesday, April 7 4-8pm
Saturday, April 11, 9am-1pm
Thursday, April 16, 4-8pm
